The IWC Ingenieur “500,000 A\/m” (Reference IW3508)<\/strong> with a white dial and stainless steel finish is one of the most historically significant, highly over-engineered neo-vintage timepieces ever built. Produced in extremely small numbers between 1989 and 1993, it represents a milestone peak in anti-magnetic<\/strong> horology. <\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike traditional antimagnetic watches that use a heavy internal soft-iron Faraday cage to block magnetic fields, IWC chose to engineer the movement components out of entirely non-magnetic materials<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

Furthermore, the alloy proved highly temperamental to climate and temperature fluctuations. Due to these structural challenges and high manufacturing losses, the watch was discontinued after a very short run. Experts estimate that fewer than 1,000 total pieces<\/strong> were ever produced across all variants, with only around 614 of those built in pure stainless steel.<\/div>\n
