The IWC Portugieser F.A. Jones Limited Edition (Reference IW544203) is a highly collectible tribute watch released in 2005 to honor Florentine Ariosto Jones, the American watchmaker who founded the International Watch Company in 1868.
The "Jones Calibre": The Calibre 98290 movement pays explicit homage to 19th-century pocket watches. Visible through the case back, it features an elongated "Jones arrow" index regulator extending from the balance cock to the 3/4 plate to allow precise beat adjustment.
Strictly Limited & Numbered: IWC produced exactly 3,000 pieces in stainless steel globally. Unlike standard modern limited editions that state "1 of 3000," each piece in this series features its unique individual number custom-engraved directly onto the side of the case.
